I wanted to share a speech I gave supporting Randy Brogdon at a recent Republican event here in LeFlore County.
Randy Brogdon is a Christian man, a deacon in his church. He is a husband, father and a former business owner in the heating and air conditioning trade.
He is both fiscally and socially conservative, with the best interest of Oklahoma and our Republic in his heart.
He has been voted Oklahoma’s most conservative legislator for 4 straight years. I have heard tell that he is also the most difficult to get along with.
Randy does not compromise. He sticks with what he believes to be right. In the 2006 special session Randy and one other Senator, Scott Pruitt, were the only ones to vote against legislation introduced in the special session, SB90X. SB90X allowed the legislature to spend $457 million in excess revenue instead of returning it to the taxpayers as the State Constitution requires them to do.
Randy is completing his second term in the State Senate. Unlike some other candidates seeking higher office, he is not term limited and could easily coast through another win to 4 more years in the Senate.
Randy Brogdon was the principle author of legislation that would have allowed the people of Oklahoma to decide by ballot initiative if we should put the State Legislature on a diet. SQ726 was also referred to as Stop Over Spending and TABOR light.
Randy Brogdon supports parent’s rights to decide how their children will be educated, lower taxes for Oklahomans, citizen’s rights concerning abusing eminent domain and tort reform to control frivolous lawsuits.
He has fought diligently against the NAFTA Superhighway coming through Oklahoma, the REAL ID act, illegal immigration, and most recently claiming tenth amendment rights against an overpowering and over reaching U.S. Congress.
Randy urged Governor Henry to reject the stimulus money headed our way because of the strings attached that Oklahomans cannot afford. Ask the people in Perkins.
If you want a governor that thinks like you do, believes what you believe, and will govern our State business the way you govern your home......
you want Randy Brogdon to be your next governor.
